Many women feel that they are ill-equipped and unable to handle their personal or their family’s finances. Today it is still true that in most households, men tend to handle matters of investments and assets. Today, I am speaking with one woman who is on a mission to change that narrative and broaden the wealth consciousness of every woman in her path. Natali Morris is a broadcaster, writer, speaker, and the co-founder of Morris Invest. Once one of the nation’s top newscasters and reporters for CBS, NBC, and the Today show, now Natali is using her gifts to share her exhaustive knowledge of personal finance. She desires that women everywhere feel powerful and capable of creating financial freedom for their families. In today’s episode, you will hear how Natali went from feeling powerless to empowered by running her family’s finances like a business. Today is your chance to join Natali to combat any limiting beliefs you might have about finances.
Difficult Choices and Shifting Identities
Natali and her husband both had rewarding careers in broadcast journalism, but once they started a family, some tough decisions had to be made. Like many women, Natali had to make the choice to go back to work after having her first child. Between her husband’s varying schedule and her own commitments, Natali knew the arrangements they had made wouldn’t last, and she made the choice for her family to leave her full-time job. Natali and her husband see their marriage as a partnership, and navigating the difficult logistics was a process they went through together. Even though Natali knew her decision to leave was the best one for her growing family, she still couldn’t shake the fact that the paychecks simply didn’t have her name on them. Like many new working moms, Natali wrestled with a rapidly shifting identity and a creeping sense of unworthiness. She knew she needed to play a role in her family’s financial future. Determined to contribute to family finances in some way, Natali took a long, hard look at the numbers, and started doing her personal finance homework.
Finding Financial Freedom
Taking charge of her family’s finances gave Natali a set of skills and a base of knowledge that her husband didn’t. As he learned the tools of the trade for buying real estate, Natali worked behind the scenes to do what she calls “ninja moves” to free up money to begin buying properties. Thanks to Natali’s financial investigations, the partners were able to make slow changes and merge their different skill sets to generate more income. Soon, Natali and her husband developed systems for generating passive income, which in time, allowed her husband to quit his day job and retire in his forties. Together, Natali and her husband had created systems and strategies that had absolutely transformed their finances to give them the freedom they were always after. They are now using their time to teach others about their amazing system. It’s all about finding the “Freedom Number” that allows families to maintain their lifestyle by earning passive income from assets.
Money Mindset Matters
Many families live out their financial lives from payment to payment, never having any understanding of their net worth or the value of their investments. Natali wants to change the way women especially begin to think of that number. With a few subtle shifts in our mindset, women can spearhead the family’s efforts to take on more assets and reinvest their money into channels for more income. Natali wants us to maximize our assets and sledgehammer liabilities. Whether or not you quit your day job is up to you, but to be a steward of our finances is to offer up so much more freedom than we’ve ever experienced. Natali will remind you today that your money mindset matters – it’s the wealth consciousness that we can all possess. When you begin to change the way you think about money, you will change the way you allocate and use the money you already have. Financial freedom might be a lot closer than you think, and Natali knows women are capable of leading that charge as you increase your wealth consciousness on a day to day basis.
