Beck is the Founder of BAM Communications and Bite San Diego (sold in 2016). In 2011 she won an Emmy for her TV show Next 500. She is a board member of Gen-Next and San Diego Venture Group. Beck got her BA from UCLA at 19 and her MBA from the University of Pittsburgh at 21; where she’s still the youngest graduate to date.

- Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. Beck loves it because, “It teaches us that there’s no bad teams, there’s just bad leaders.”

- Running every day. The meditative aspect and having regular physical movement is invaluable

- “Focus; you can’t be doing everything all at once. If you want to make real traction, you’ve got to focus!”
